INtroducing Zoe Karssen to INfluence!

It comes to no surprise to me that my new favorite tee-shirt line was founded in Amsterdam, a place that is on my bucket list to visit! These “cool group” Zoe Karssen tees have edgy designs, that are inspired by Rock in Roll, Fashion icons, Quotes, and Pop Culture! The new tee-shirt line, is not known by everyone, so it has a loyal following (hints the word “cool group!”) We are the only store in the Sarasota area to carry the line, and the next closest store would be 3 hours away in Miami! So you don’t have to worry about going out in the same top as a girlfriend.

My personal favorite would have to be the “Zoe Karssen Hands Tee in Grey”!

Yes Mickey is that naughty ha ha :-)

I also love the “Zoe Karssen Bat tee in White” being a batman fan, this is a must-have!

“Zoe Karssen French Kissing in the USA in Dazzle Blue” we can all relate to in some way, nothing better than a french kiss from the one you love!

And my absolute favorite crew-neck would have to be the “Zoe Karssen Love Crew in Grey”! It gives you a little street feel with the one thing every girl is longing for, LOVE!

The Face of INfluence!

INfluencestyle.com is very much up and running! We add new product daily and run promo codes, along with free shipping on orders over $150.00; However, our SRQ locals and regular shoppers know we have WAAAYYY more merchandise in store than online!

We are currently using the designer’s photos but sometimes everything that we order isn’t always pictured or if it is, it isn’t pictured in the same color! So in order to get that product up on our website, we have to take pictures ourselves!

Last night was INFluence’s first photo shoot in store! We had a lot of fun setting up lights and the backdrops…playing with shadows, and picking out our favorite outfits! Here are some fun pictures I was able to capture behind the scenes!

We’ve been looking for models to model some of our clothing, which it can be a struggle finding that perfect look to represent the store! But last night it all made sense, who isn’t more perfect than the co-owner, buyer, visual merchandiser, and jack of all trades herself Liz Murray, Instagram: @IamLizzz, Twitter: @LizMurray2!

I personally think Samantha Beebe should model as well, maybe feedback from blog readers would push her to as well ;-)

The Sweetheart Dress <3 Just IN time for your Sweetheart!

Blaque label is one of my favorite brands, we carry here at INfluence! It’s fashionable designs and great price points keeps me wanting at least one style (or more) from every shipment! Celebrities like Kourtney Kardashian, Denise Richards, Jana Kramer, Naomi Watts, Guilianna Rancic, Alexa Vega, Melissa Gorga and Jaslene Gonzalez can all be spotted in Blaque Label clothing!

I can’t wait to get my hands on our new shipment of TKEES flip flops !! I’ve been waiting patiently for these babies to arrive, and I have my eyes  set on a few colors. The best flip flops, hands down, I have ever purchased. Very comfortable, colorful and stylish.  Wear them from Yoga class, in a Maxi running errands on Saturday morning, on your next spring vacation, or piece them with Jeans and a T-Shirt to the movies. At $48, these will last you a lifetime.

Social Media Got me Anti-Social!

Yesterday was my day off and looking back on my 13 hours of fun, I probably spent half of it telling the WORLD what I was doing and seeing what my “friends” were doing also…I’m sure some of you can relate, my dad is visiting from out of town and several times he said to me, “Starr put your phone away! Starr who are you texting? Starr your laptop, really, At the pool?”

Some of you probably already know I went parasailing yesterday, which was awesome, def try it! If you didn’t know you can easily see pictures by checking my facebook, instagram, twitter, and Pinterest! I spent most of my day yesterday uploading pictures, pinning pictures, putting filters on pictures, tweeting, checking-in, and updating my statuses for play by play of what I was doing, of course!




I might have somewhat of an addiction but its hard not to when you have wi-fi and an iphone and tons of free apps (added daily) to keep you hooked.

My newest obsession is Pinterest, some of you may know what it is and some may not! I recently just found it and really don’t know the meaning or purpose of it but can find myself on it for hours pinning.

According to Wikipedia “Pinterest is, (pronounced to rhyme with “interest”) is a vision board-styled social photo sharing website and app where users can create and manage theme-based image collections. The mission statement of Pinterest is to connect everyone in the world through shared tastes and the “things” they find interesting.” To simplify that a little bit a friend of mine described it as though, “the FoodNetwork and HGTV had a facebook and named it Pinterest.”

I definitely feel it has a future in the fashion world and would make shopping so much easier! If you check out my Pinterest it is full of outfits I love, nail polishes I plan on having done at nail shop, DIY projects, and future interior design ideas!

Influence’s Pinterest is full of outfit ideas, store shots, website shots, and everyday happenings in the store! The only difference between ours is, if you actually like what you see, you can click it, and go straight to our website to buy it!

If only the rest of Pinterest was that easy! Ive come across these pink lace skirt on pinterest over and over and still have no clue where to buy them or how much they are!!!! What a nightmare?

Attention Fellow Discount Shoppers: Hautelook, Gilt, Ideeli, Rue La La Scams!

For those of you who know me, we all know I love to shop and some might say I am addicted. For those of you who don’t know me I will fill you in! At 11pm everyday I check Hautelook and at 12pm I check Gilt Groupe, then Ideeli, and then Rue La La…There are a couple of other sites I enjoy checking weekly or whenever I see a brand I like, like Plndr, Editors Closet, Shop It To Me, and Editor’s Closet.

If you have never been on any of these sites, they are a new age way of sale and discount shopping! They are “invite only,” which gives you that exclusivity appeal even though everyone is always invited ha ha.

I’ve been working in retail since I was 16 so I’m used to the perks that come along with it! I love shopping, but I love shopping even more when I feel like I am getting a good deal. However, the past month I have been researching what I buy a little more carefully.

Here is a great example of what I am talking about:

We carry this DV by Dolce Vita at INfluence, It is not only advertised as Dolce Vita (the more expensive line)
it is also retailing for $165.00!

We have had it on our sale rack for the past month for $50.00 and it’s original price is REALLY $88.00 not $165.00. It appears to be a better deal than what it really is.

Yesterday, Torn was on HauteLook and when researching the tops and dresses I liked and comparing them to other sites I found they marked the original price up $40-$60 before marking it down.

I am all for discounts and sales, but please do your research and just know helping small local businesses not only helps the economy but keeps them going. Here at INfluence we are constantly researching other online sites and major retailers to make sure we properly markdown our merchandise when its time. We have a constant flow of new merchandise coming in EVERYDAY, so we even markdown newer merchandise when there are only one or two left.

These discount retailers are suppose to wait 2 or 3 seasons before putting them on these sites (that doesn’t mean they always do), but for new merchandise with great customer service and an up to date sale rack Influence is where it’s at!

I love shopping online but I also like being able to try it on, that stands by their merchandise and are honest!
